The first Yogi I ever spotted in this lifetime turned out to be
my Guru
The photograph above shows Swami Nirmalananda Saraswati (Roma Blair) with her Guru Paramahamsa
Satyananda Saraswati on stage during the popular Australian TV show “Relaxing
with Roma” in Sydney Australia 1968. I can not remember the exact date, but I
was watching this episode when Roma Blair introduced her Guru Swami Satyananda.
I was eleven at the time and something
must have clicked, because I next time I spotted this moving spirit in the form
of Swami Satyananda was at his ashram (Bihar School of Yoga) in Munger, Bihar, India in 1988 which was twenty years later
when I was thirty one years of age. When I spotted this man a Sannyasin in Geru robes on TV
when I was a small child, I never realized that I would one day in the future I
would meet him in the middle of
